Army Vet Punches Man Who Won’t Stop Screaming During Moment Of Silence For Fallen Soldiers (2024)

Taught him some respect.

Obviously at sporting events people are not only excited for the game, but often have a few (too many) to drink before the game even starts. So naturally things get a little rowdy, especially when everybody’s jacked up for kickoff as the pregame festivities wrap up.

But apparently this guy just couldn’t hold it together during those pregame festivities as an Australian rugby fan wouldn’t stop screaming during a moment of silence for fallen soldiers.

The wild scene, which has recently gone viral once again, went down at a match between the Brisbane Broncos and the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs at Suncorp Stadium a couple of years ago. The match was on Anzac Day, a day of remembrance for fallen members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, and ahead of the start the teams held a minute of silence to recognize those who have been lost in the line of duty.

But one fan apparently wouldn’t stop screaming during the solemn moment, with his screams echoing throughout the silent stadium as everybody else respectfully stood quiet.

According to a witness, it was after the minute of silence when a nearby fan decided to teach the guy a little respect – and deck him right in the face.

Video shows a fan from another team, reportedly a veteran himself, punching the obnoxious fan and sending him falling over the row of seats in front of him.

And in case it’s not clear whose side the rest of the crowd was on, everybody else in the video was cheering on the man who was throwing haymakers at the disrespectful fan.

Both men were escorted out of the stadium, with a witness saying that the man who threw the punches was cheered as he left the stadium.

No charges were reportedly filed against the veteran, but the man who interrupted the minute of silence was fined $1,600 for obstructing police and disorderly conduct.

Bet he sits there quietly next time…

Jelly Roll Brought A Vietnam Veteran Backstage & Talked To Him For An Hour At His Show

Is there a nicer guy on the planet than Jelly Roll?

With the rapper-turned-country star, what you see is what you get. And what you get is one of the most humble, genuine dudes in a country music industry that’s often full of people who are…well, not like that.

But with Jelly Roll, this is the perfect example of the kind of guy that he is.

If you remember back to last year, during a performance at MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas on his sold-out Backroad Baptism Tour,Jelly Roll spotted a man in the front of the crowd wearing a Vietnam Veteran hat, and took a minute to recognize the gentleman for his service to our country:

“This gentleman right here has got a Vietnam Veteran hat on. He has been standing right here and rocking with me all night long.

I just want to tell you how much I appreciate you and your service, sir. Thank you so much.”

He then made a promise to the veteran that he had a free ticket to any Jelly Roll concert he ever wanted to attend:

“I hope you enjoyed the hell out of the night. And I promise you this, you’ll never buy another ticket to my show. I wanna get my people with you. You’re welcome forever. Thank you.”

@yambiibambii This man is the best!! He doesnt care about the fame he cares about his people and he proces that to 15 thousand people! You have saved so many people we all lit up the room friday night! @Jelly Roll @Bunnie Xo 🪄 dont ever let that man go!! #veterans #lasvegastiktok #nevada #mgmgrandgardenarena #jellyroll #fyp #sonofasinner #saveme ♬ original sound – Amber Lynn

But as it turns out, that wasn’t the end of the story.

While speaking with Us Weekly about his favorite fan interactions, Jelly Roll recalled this particular man – and revealed that he actually spoke to him after the show:

“Last year in Las Vegas there was a veteran in his 70s with his wife – I knew he was a veteran because the hat he was wearing said so, he was very proud.

Seeing that man and his wife enjoy the concert was one of the most surreal moments of tour – I was proud to have him as a fan. I asked security to bring him backstage and we talked for close to an hour – it really meant a lot to me.”

You love to see it. Recognizing the men and women who keep us free. Just another example of Jelly Roll’s big ol’ heart.

Retired Veteran Surprised With The Gift Of A Service Dog From The New York Giants

A gift that will change this man’s life.

Moments like this can’t help but make you think that it doesn’t take a massive gesture to make a meaningful impact on someone’s life, but big gifts like this are extraordinary.

During this week’s New York Giants game, the team gifted a man with something that would change his life.

U.S. Navy Veteran John Mulvey attended the game, and the NFL team brought him down to the field to honor his dedication to our nation. Mulvey is a 36-year veteran who was deployed nine times throughout his service in the military. He served in Desert Storm, Haiti, the Gulf Wars, Iraq, Afghanistan, and during 9/11 recovery. Retiring in 2016, he earned the rank of Master Chief E-8.

The stadium is cheering wildly for Mulvey for his service. Then the announcers go off script for Mulvey, and as an adorable golden retriever is led onto the field, the announcers surprise Mulvey with the greatest gift:

“After 36 years of service, traumatic brain injury, and post-traumatic stress disorder, we know how life changing a service dog can be.

The Giants, along with JK Consulting and Window World, would like to present you with a healing leash. A service dog named Storm. Trained by the Paws of War to assist you throughout your daily life. John, thank you for your service to our country.”

The sweet English cream golden wearing a New York Giants harness is led to Mulvey and his family, and it looks like love at first sight. The dog jumps up onto its new owner. Mulvey leans down and starts to pet the dog with a look of thankfulness.

Given that a properly trained service dog can cost anywhere between $10,000 and $50,000, this gift is more than meaningful to Mulvey and his family and is truly life changing.

Pull out a tissue before you watch this one.

The comments were flooded with endearing messages and thanks to John for his service:

Oh gosh. Storm went straight into his arms. He knew he was home. Thank you, sir. Now it’s time for you to be taken care of!”

“That dog was trained well. So calm and already making sure his owner wasn’t overwhelmed.”

“I’m crying for everybody. The dog getting a new job, the guy who needed him, and the trainer who’s gonna miss him.”

“To hear his list of tours.. nine tours. This man has seen things we can’t imagine. We owe him so much. Thank you for your service, sir.”

“Storm said: “You’re my human now.” I got you.”

“This is beautiful. Thanks to the Giants for such a wonderful gift. Thank you, John, for your service.”
