i Cemetery TULSA WORLD Sunday, June 9, 2013 A 19 OUR LIVES OBITUARIES Brooke Allen Calvert Walker was born March 25, 1941 in Ponca City, OK. The first child of Floyd Allen Calvert, Jr. and Louise (Niemann) Calvert, she spent much of her youth in Olney, Illinois. She passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at the age of 72. Brooke was a 1959 graduate of Monte Casino High School in Tulsa.

She attended Manhattanville College in New York prior to completing her Bachelor's degree in Journalism at the University of Oklahoma in 1962 where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She cherished the 1 relationships formed at Monte Cassino and OU her entire life. She also attended college in Switzerland in 1960 and later worked at the US Embassy in Paris, as she was fluent in both French and Italian. Brooke married Richard Wallace Walker in 1966 and they had three boys who survive her, Joshua Allen Walker and his wife, Johnna (Bachle) of Tulsa, Lucas Taliaferro Walker of Phoenix, AZ, Zachary Myers Walker and his wife, Melissa (Croom) of Frisco, TX; seven grandchildren, Niemann Gae Walker, Natalie Allen Walker, Lucas Calvert Walker, Lillian Grace Walker, Elijah James Walker, Caleb Richard Walker and Nathan Crosby Walker. She is also survived by her brother, Hal Niemann Calvert and a nephew, Timothy Allen Calvert.

She was preceded Brooke Allen Calvert Walker in death by her parents and her sister, Melissa Taliaferro Calvert. This passage from her 1959 Monte Cassino yearbook describes her best: "Her quiet, unpretentious personality was often charged with humor and forgetfulness. She is good as she is fair." Brooke was very proud of her father and maternal grandfather; both early Oklahoma pioneers. Her father, Allen Calvert was a respected Oklahoma oilman and her grandfather, Dr. George H.

Niemann was the first surge on in Ponca City. Brooke was a relentless disciplinarian raising her three sons. As they grew older, Brooke purchased a villa in the small town of Porto Colombo on the island of Sardinia, Italy and enjoyed many summers at her favorite place on earth. Brooke traveled frequently and had residences in Gold Beach, OR; Bonita Springs, FL; Blue Ridge, GA; Payson, AZ. She returned home to Tulsa in 2004 where she loved preparing wonderful meals at the request of many family and friends.

Austin was born in Koshkonong, MO on January 6, 1933 to Leonard and Ruby (Wood) Maxey.

The Maxey family moved to Oklahoma when Austin was in the fourth grade where he met Ms. Sarah Doyle at Mark Twain Elementary School on the Sand Springs Line. When Austin's father entered the Army, the family moved away before returning when he was in the 7th grade where he once again met up with Sarah. They attended school together at Roosevelt prior to uniting in marriage on May 5, 1950 in Sapulpa, OK. Together they raised five children and enjoyed 63 years of marriage.

Aside from his family, Austin's passion was music. He began playing and singing country music at 18 and was part of a duet with his friend Gene Eoff. During his early years of playing, Austin fronted for Billy Parker's Band and toured with Bobby Barnett for several years. He also once opened for Johnny Cash at Cain's Ballroom before going on to record five records of his own. Mr.

Maxey was a machinist by trade retiring from Wheatley-Gaso after many years of service. He gave his life to Christ and was Austin Leo Maxey savedin1987 at WordofLife Fellowship where he went on to play the bass guitar in Praise and Worship. Lovingly survived by: wife, Sarah Maxey of Sapulpa, OK; children, Nancy Clark and husband, Bill of Broken Arrow, Sharon Emigh of Sand Springs, Len Maxey and wife, Brenda of Bixby, Gerald Maxey and wife, Laura of Tulsa, and Vickie Cummings and husband, Robert of Broken Arrow; sister, Thelma Singleton and husband, Floyd; fourteen grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren with two on the way. Preceding Austin in death were his parents, Leonard and Ruby Maxey; brother, Claude Maxey; and sons-inlaw, David Emigh and Tommy Isaacs. com Jerry Wayne Springer Jerry Wayne Springer was born October 20, 1946 in Sacramento, CA to Lester Springer and Nelda Coleen McKnight. He passed away May 13, 2013 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 66. Jerry owned several businesses in the Tulsa area, including Lester's Gear Automatic Parts, Tulsa Brake Clutch, and Axles Transmissions Transfers. He also loved flying airplanes, racing motorcycles and driving his antique car collection. Jerry would usually start his weekends drinking coffee a at the Pilot's Lounge with his Airman Acres buddies.

He was best known for telling jokes. Jerry often referred to himself as "Jerry Springer: The poor, good-looking one, not the rich, ugly talk show host!" He is survived by: his wife, Juanita W. Springer of Collinsville; daughters, Leslie Ann Davis and husband, Marc of Collinsville, Jeri Dawn Barrientos and husband, Tomas of Tulsa, Maggie Lee Stacy and husband, James of Collinsville; stepson, Scott Anthony of Piedmont, AL; grandchildren, Arin Burns and husband, John of Mustang, Ashley Ward and husband, Aaron of Bro- ken Arrow, and Henry Barrientos of Tulsa; great-grandchildren, Tyler Welch of Mustang, and Tanden Ward of Broken Arrow; father, Lester Springer of Collinsville; siblings, Nelda Coulson of Sperry, Mike McKnight of Foyil, Billy Young of Tulsa, Donna Morrison of Tulsa, and Darla Skirvin of California; family pets, Audrey and Bubba; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
