About UC Blue Ash

The Behavioral Science Department at UC Blue Ash invites applicants for our Psychology Adjunct faculty general pool of candidates from which part-time faculty will be selected for the upcoming term (as needed).

The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College is one of the largest regional colleges in Ohio and one of the most diverse colleges at the University of Cincinnati. The college is in Blue Ash, Ohio fifteen miles north of the uptown campus, on 135 acres in a park-like setting. We offer primarily associate degrees in career and transition programs, as well as general education courses and technical baccalaureate degrees to approximately 5,100 students. Job Overview

On a part-time, limited basis, the Adjunct Faculty member’s primary academic functions include teaching first and second-year Psychology courses. This may include creating curricula or teaching from model curricula provided by the department.

Part-time faculty must be able to teach introductory psychology courses. Other possible teaching assignments include human development, psychopathology, research methods and statistics, theories of personality, and other psychology topics for sophom*ore-level courses.

Adjunct faculty members will be expected to (1) use our course management system (Canvas) and any textbook-specific systems; (2) hold regular office hours to meet with students and reply to student communications in a timely manner; and (3) participate in at least one professional development workshop per year.

The department has an enhanced need for part-time faculty who are available to teach during the day, but courses may be offered either the day or evening. The candidate should have experience with online teaching. This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.

Essential Functions
-On a part-time basis, teach assigned undergraduate courses.
-Using best practices, continually evaluate student coursework.
-Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of their responsibilities.
-Review and respond in a timely manner to all University-related and student communications.
-Other related duties as assigned.

Required Education
-A master's degree in Psychology.

Required Experience
-At least one year experience.

Additional Qualifications Considered
-At least one year of teaching experience specifically in a college setting.
-There is an enhanced need for availability to teach courses during the day.
-Experience with online teaching
